2026 Outings
Dear Members and friends
Following the highly-successful trips to Beverley and Ireland, Marilyn Makins is planning a trip to Hull.
Kingston upon Hull (to render its full title) has been the butt of many a comedian’s jokes over the years, but it is a fine and historic city with a cultural life all of its own. City of Culture in 2017, it is far more than just a past centre of the fishing industry. Do read on!
¨ Date: Wednesday 22nd July 2026
¨ Pick-up points: Spilsby, Hagworthingham and Horncastle
¨ Times: Pick-up 8 am onwards
¨ In Hull 10 am – 4 pm
¨ Return Around 6 pm
¨ Price: £20.00 per person
There will also be a short break holiday to Scotland from the 1st October.
Horncastle u3a members, plus others from Horncastle and surrounding areas joined together to enjoy a week in Ireland where there was fun, laughter, music, entertainment, good food and four excursions to different parts of the area where we stayed
This was Enniscorthy - a beautiful little town with different attractions and plenty of places to see, plus shops cafes and restaurants. It was a fun and interesting week, and all who put their faith in my organisational skills enjoyed the experience!
I’m planning a similar trip later in the year perhaps - early October - on the west coast of Scotland. Final details will be published very soon.
